It’s a crisp October night and I’m racing up hills at the cemetery. This is not a pre-Halloween ritual I assure you, but at first seemed like an oddity for week five of Fresh Air Experience’s Learn to Run Clinic.

More daunting than creepy, was this week’s incorporation of the hill at the cemetery entrance as part of hill training. The theory behind the training: running at a fast pace up a hill followed by a full recovery in a set of six-10 cycles can be an effective way to increase your strength and endurance.
